The most apparent change at Can Stock Photo is the new website design. The page layout and design has been completely revamped, featuring a new logo, navigation links, front page, and search box. The intended focus of the new design is to provide more user-friendly navigation, visual appeal, and focus on the company?s collection of nearly 5 million stock photos. This marks the first major site redesign for the stock photography company in the past several years.

The second major component of Can Stock Photo?s upgrades is it?s new search engine. The announcement was made by the film's producer/director Sinohui Hinojosa, co-founder of Emerging Artist Productions at their Santa Clara based studio.

?The film tells the story of an unlikely hero, the son of a farmer who discovers an evil presence that threatens his family and the small rural community where he lives...?, said Hinojosa, ?...harkening back to the ?creature-features? that I grew up watching, this film is a testament to independent filmmaking and the ability to produce high quality content, right here in the Bay Area.?

Supported by the EAP co-founders, Bernard Fok and Joel H. The attacks of September 11, 2001 reshaped the face of the nation and changed the course of history ? not just in New York or the United States, but around the globe. AWAKENINGS will explore September 11th and its effects on literature as well as literature?s attempts to convey September 11th. We plan to accomplish this by highlighting works by Jewish and Arab-Americans, Israeli, and Arab poets and writers, including poetry and short fiction, book reviews, intellectual debate and scholarly inquiry that cultivate critical and creative thought. The editors are looking for 'essays about what it means to be any of these types of writers (Jewish and Arab Americans, Israeli and Arab), and how you define these types of literature. We will also accept first impressions, poetry, and short stories.. While we will look at works written shortly after September 11, 2001, we are particularly interested in contemporary reflective pieces.

This issue is being shepherded by editorial interns Amanda Ostrove and Eric Barbera. Ten years ago, we compiled an issue commemorating September 11 in 2001, which was never published due to lack of funds. Ostrove and Barbera will select works from that compilation as well as newer works that provide a fresh perspective on what has happened since September 11th. Here, we have a rare opportunity to publish works written in the spirit of the moment alongside retrospective literature. While we are fully aware that politics plays an important role in this inquiry, as a literary publication, we choose to approach it via culture, the arts and literature. Our goal is to inform and educate readers through the eyes of our best writers.

The debut project, titled ?Zone? is due out August 23rd, 2011, and is the first commercial release for Walker in years, but it?s as if he never left. Walker has re-joined forces with renowned music industry executive, Ruben Rodriguez, CEO of Pendulum Records. Pendulum Records is synonymous with success having launched the careers of musical greats such as Grammy Award-Winning Digable Planets, critically acclaimed Boogiemonsters, hip-hop?s legendary Lords Of The Underground, a number one pop single, ?Lately? with the urban pop trio Divine and of course, Chris Walker. May 11, 2011 (FPRC) -- Seoul, Korea--International recording artist Lance Reegan-Diehl and his eclectic company DEELEEBOB Entertainment with Softindustry Development, will be kicking off RocKorea, Midan City Concert - A Tribute To Indie Rock on June 4, 2011. The concert will feature acts from Seoul and the surrounding area, it will run all day and night into the following morning. Midan City will be the biggest international Indie rock show of 2011 in Korea.

The area is gearing up for one of the longest live Saturday night performances ever, starting at 12pm and running until 6am in the morning followed by a breakfast gathering at 8am. Along with many of the leading acts playing in Seoul, you can also expect Craftworks with Ka-Brew to be providing various quality beers, and 12 food vendor trucks/tents will be out with a variety of food choices.

Music is not the only feature of the festival, alongside great food and microbrew, they have giveaways between each act including; guitar contest, mini-amps, T-shirts, and various music swag. There will also be an area where people can put their tents up if they want to camp out. Security is on site for the entire event along with a first aid tent.

Indy-Rock band the White Stripes officially broke up in February, but have not performed since 2007. Their final performance is now available on 12? vinyl and accompanied by a DVD and another 7? vinyl featuring two never-before released covers.

May 20, 2011 (FPRC) -- Southaven, MS - On July 31st, 2007, the White Stripes had what would later be known as their last live performance. Jack and Meg White announced in February that they are officially disbanding their Indy-Rock duo after nearly 4 years without performing together.

The pair was on tour when Meg suffered an anxiety attack and the remainder of the tour was postponed indefinitely. Strangely enough, fans were reported as saying that the band was at the top of their game just before the incident and many fans upset to hear about the turn of events, considering the positive press the tour was receiving.

Jack White stayed busy with plenty of side projects while Meg was recovering and was instrumental in the formation in numerous other bands including The Raconteurs, which was before the hiatus in 2005. He also former The Dead Weather with The Kills frontwoman, Alison Mosshart in early 2009. Back in 2003, Jack also started a solo career, and in 2008, collaborated with Alicia Keys on the theme for the James Bond movie, ?Quantum of Solace?. More recently, in November of 2010, he was asked to team with Norah Jones for a project entitled ?Rome?.

In 2001, Jack formed Third Man Records in Detroit, MI. He set up a physical presence in Nashville, TN and has released dozens of vinyl records through the imprint. Recently, the label released Vault Package #8, which offers the White Stripes? last live performance on two LPs (?Live in Mississippi?), a 7? vinyl (?Signed DC?) which includes two rare live covers and a DVD (?Under Moorhead Lights All Fargo Night?), recorded on June 13th, 2000 during a performance at Ralph?s Corner Bar in Moorhead, MN.

On ?Live in Mississippi?, 22 tracks are split up over the 2 LPs, all from their final performance in July of 2007. ?Signed DC? features only two tracks, but they are rare covers of Love?s: ?Signed DC? and Otis Redding?s: ?I?ve Been Loving You Too Long?. The accompanying DVD contains a recording of 12 songs from the 2000 performance. All three of these items are available together by Third Man Records in ?Vault Package #8? and are a must have for any White Stripes fan or vinyl enthusiast. Though the set is only available in limited release and the pair is currently no longer performing together, they still have a decade worth of great music for any fan to enjoy, and SoundStage Direct is a great resource for many of their other releases on vinyl, available now.

His past would continue to haunt him into adult life, until he met with a traditional priest that performed an exorcism. That moved him into the next phase of his life.

July 21, 2011 (FPRC) -- ? Less than two years ago Pamela Turton?s life, as she knew it, seemed to be collapsing around her. Having become a casualty of the world-wide Recession, with her first business failing in 2008, the value of her home plummeting, unable to meet the surmounting debts, distressed by the breakdown of her relationship with her Turkish partner through stress and separation, she wondered how she would survive and be able to provide for her two sons.

Except that Pamela was armed with faith, and believed in ?the gift behind the problem?. It soon presented itself to her. You see, Pamela had always had a desire to be a writer. Having nothing left to lose, she had earlier edited a short novel, ?Sister, Sister?, which she had written 16 years earlier, and self-published it, as well as a collection of poems she had written as a teacher in 2005. She had written articles based on applying positive psychology, which she compiled into the Metaphorm handbook for the programme she had created, and published that too.

However, the striking moment of inspiration came in late Sept. 2009, when things could not seem to get worse. Although Pamela rarely read magazines at that time, she felt drawn to the copy of ?Take A Break?, on the bookshelf of her local supermarket. One of the headlines was about a ?Holiday Justice Campaign?, but it was not until she opened it that Pamela realised the main article was another damning report about ?Turkish Love Rats?. It was then she knew she had to write a novel, based on her own experiences and observations, during the visits and several months she had spent in Turkey, which would aim to tell a story from all sides.

Before her first trip to Turkey with her two sons in 2006, Pamela had been regaled with warnings about Turkish men. Sceptical, because she was relatively well-travelled, she felt that there was some unfair stereotyping in the warnings. However, she was disturbed by the predatory nature of a number of the men she encountered, and European women on holiday. Everyone, it seemed, had a torrid ?Turkish tale? to tell. Judging by the amount of online discussion, and the popularity of TV documentaries, such as ?Manhunters, our Turkish Toyboys?, and ?The Turkish Wives Club?, the controversy continues.

But Pamela had witnessed first-hand what goes on, and gained some insight into the motives and attitudes of the tourists and tourist workers. Her novel, ?Selling Short? explores these relationships, and the values and beliefs behind the behaviour of the main characters.

July 7, 2011 (FPRC) -- Over two days from 21st to 22nd August, Dragon Boat Festival 2011 will witness around 100 teams giving it everything as they race for honours and pride in the mixed events. Prizes will be awarded for certain races which will be made up of men?s and women?s events. The longest of these being a gruelling 1,500 metres, while short sprints of 250 metres will also be common.

Each team will consist of a steerer known as the sweep, who directs the boat from the back, the drummer then sets the pace and 20 paddlers pull the boat through the water as they sit facing the drummer.

The drummer is key, as their role is not just ceremonial but they dictate and judge when to push and when to hold back, and the skill is being able to set the pace with the lead paddlers.

Many of Hamburg?s businesses, clubs and amateur crews will make up the teams taking part but overseas competitors are also set to join which will result in greater demand for hotels in Hamburg. Various shows will also run around the lake, with entertainment for children, film screenings, refreshments and ceremonies from Asian cultures.

The organisers of World Art Vision chose Barcelona as the scene and amphitheatre for the largest independent art show of Catalonia, the first edition having taken place in Cancun. Over the 18 days of the show, Palacio Pignatelli will host an impressive collection of paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography, prints, installation art, video and digital images, accompanied by a rich calendar of musical events and conferences given by prestigious professionals in the national and international artistic scene. The exhibition coincides with the 130th anniversary of the Real C?rculo Art?stico and puts the finishing touches to an exciting international project which seeks to create a two-way bridge between the artistic culture of Spain and the rest of the world.

As part of the promotional campaign of WAV Barcelona 2011, and thanks to the support of the Barcelona town council, a monumental solid iron sculpture, a work by the artist Antonio D?az, has been installed in the Paseo Llu?s Companys. Top professionals and personalities from the contemporary art world will be present at the opening of the exhibition and have been invited by the organizers to be part of the wide range of collateral events taking place throughout the exhibition period: Fabrizio Pivari, Director of Art & Artworks, Maurizio Vanni, Director of the Lu.C.C.A Museum, the much awarded photographer, Danish Saroee, who will present the video of the interview with 'Los Fridos', made during the festivities of WAV Cancun 2008, Tom?s Paredes, President of the Association of Art Critics in Madrid and critic for La Vanguardia and the brilliant pianist Ernest Hing-Leung So, who offers his audience three concerts, all contribute to the rich collateral events programme.
