In June of 2011, Artist John Ross Palmer of Houston, Texas traveled to Dublin, Ireland to create his annual exclusive international art series. The series will be unveiled at his art gallery in Houston on July 17, 2011.

July 6, 2011 (FPRC) -- From May 31, 2011 to June 9, 2011, Artist John Ross Palmer of Houston, Texas traveled to Dublin, Ireland for his annual art study-abroad adventure. Palmer believes that travel is essential to the evolution of an artist. "I absorb my surroundings completely and then it is released in my art," Palmer says enthusiastically. "By going to a new country at least once a year, my senses become invigorated by witnessing and soaking up a new, dynamic culture."
After researching the history of Dublin for many months prior to the trip, Palmer decided to use the historic Postal Code Districts of Dublin as the inspiration behind his unique, eleven-piece series. The city of Dublin, Ireland is divided by the beautiful and historic River Liffey. To the North of the Liffey, you'll find all of the odd-numbered Postal Code Districts. To the South of the Liffey, you'll note that all of the Postal Code Districts are even-numbered. The division by the River Liffey and the numbered Postal Code Districts goes deeper than the surface intention of being able to locate Dublin residents for the purposes of receiving mail. Over time, the Postal Codes have created a type of stigma within the city. Odd-numbered codes are stereotyped for containing the working class population--and even-numbered codes are known for containing the middle-class to affluent members of Dublin society. This amazing dichotomy in both geography as well as social status served as the guiding map for Palmer's Dublin travel itinerary. His voyage to at least one destination in each of the first eleven postal codes would coincide with each of his eleven art pieces.
After extensive touring of the breathtaking city, Palmer set up at Broadstone Studios to create his historic Dublin 2011 art series. Now home in Houston, Palmer is thrilled to announce the following Dublin 2011 series unveiling dates:
The VIP Unveiling will take place on Saturday, July 16, 2011 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the John Palmer Gallery & Studio (By Written Invitation Only), 1218 Heights Boulevard, Houston, Texas 77008.
The Public Unveiling will take place on Sunday, July 17, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the John Palmer Gallery & Studio (Open Event), 1218 Heights Boulevard, Houston, Texas 77008.
